A High-speed Pursuit took place in Baxter Springs Kansas Late Saturday evening. The vehicle was described in the pursuit as a Nissan.
The pursuit ended with one suspect being arrested at Hwy 69 US 400
two other suspects were being detained near East 6th Street in Baxter Springs, Kansas
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Late this evening in Joplin, Missouri a shooting occured by Junge Stadium near S Conner Street. Jason Kinney a local neighbor sent us in this video footage taken around 11:34 p.m. This was filmed just a few houses away. Multiple Joplin Police Officers were dispatched along with emergency personnel. One person was reported shot at, and the suspect took off on foot.
Witness heard loud arguing then someone yelling “I’m f****** shot” several times. The witness only heard one shot fired.

On August 5th, 2019 at approximately 11:19 P.M. Officers with the Joplin Police Department were dispatched to 1214 S. Connor Ave Joplin, MO about a disturbance with a weapon involved. A caller reported that a male was pointing a gun at him. While on the phone with emergency dispatchers he reported that the suspect was in a SUV type of vehicle with Arkansas plate. The caller then reported he’d been shot then disconnected from the line.
Officers responded and contacted victim identified as Mark Kiefer, 38 of Joplin, MO with a gunshot wound to his arm. As officers on scene were assisting the victim, another officer located the suspect vehicle in the area 4013 S. HWY 43. The officer attempted to stop the suspect vehicle and it fled leading officers on a pursuit. During the pursuit the suspect discarded two pistols from the vehicle as he fled. The suspect identified as Paul Phillips age 31 of Joplin, MO was taken into custody with the assistance of Galena, KS Police Department and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim identified as Mark Kiefer age 38 of Joplin, MO was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Kiefer was later transported to a Springfield, MO hospital for further treatment. Kiefer is currently in stable medical condition. Paul Phillips has been arrested for 1st Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, Felon in Possession of Firearm, and Felony Resisting Arrest. Charges have been submitted to both the Jasper County Prosecutors Office and the Newton County Prosecutors Office. The Joplin Police Department would like to thank the Galena, KS Police Department and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this.

Late this evening West of 7th Street in Joplin, Missouri a Red S-10 pickup truck driven by an older male was involved in a high speed pursuit multiple Joplin Police Officers responded to the chase. The pursuit ended on Flower LN just past Lebanon Loop that’s near Central City Fireworks business. The driver parked the pickup in the woods and was later driven out by Joplin Police Officers. Carl Junction Fire Department responded the scene. Residents were swimming in their pool while the incident occurred. Officers took statements from witness near by. The driver of the vehicle was treated by medical team then placed in police cruiser
One male subject was arrested at the scene, more details as this story is devolping: all subjects are innocent until proven guilty.

(Branson Police Department locking down the apartmetns)
Early thursday afternoon the Branson, Missouri Police Department along with the Missouri Highway Patrol surrounded the corner of Judy and Pine Street located behind the Hollywood Wax Museum just off highway 76. Branson Police set up a tactical command post. Branson Police had been searching for a stolen silver Kia Optima which lead them to the apartments.
The 18 year old male locked himself in the attic of the apartments in the video above. Around 1 a.m Branson Police Department sent a K-9 Police dog into the attic to retreive the subject and made the arrest a short time later. Residents were able to return to there homes shortly once police gave the all clear the standoff lasted more than 6 hours
