Two vehicle collision reported after 7:40 p.m. last night on Rangeline Rd in Joplin, Missouri.
Joplin Police Department, Joplin Fire Department Engine 3, and EMS were dispatached to the crash.
The collision was cleaned up shortly after 8:15 p.m.

Death Investigation 2602 S Vermont Joplin Mo

On November 11th, 2019 Joplin Police Department investigators were conducting a neighborhood canvass in reference to an arson investigation that took place at 2605 S. New Hampshire Ave. During the neighborhood canvass information was developed on an unrelated case. Information was brought forward that a deceased person was inside the residence of 2602 S. Vermont Ave. Multiple follow ups by investigations were conducted on November 12th, 2019 by Joplin Police investigators. A search warrant for 2602 S. Vermont Ave was executed by the Joplin Police Department on November 12th, 2019. The search located a deceased adult male in a freezer inside the residence. The investigation is on-going. An autopsy is being scheduled for the deceased male. Identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and positive identification of the body. Update – On November 13th, 2019 a warrant was issued for Abandonment Of A Corpse for Barbara J. Watters, 67 years of age of 2602 S. Vermont Joplin, MO in reference to this investigation. The bond amount has been set at $100,000 cash. Below is pic of suspect and vehicle model

Structure Fire West 2nd St Joplin Mo

A structure fire was reported on West 2nd St in Joplin, Missouri this evening. Multiple Joplin Fire Engines were dispatched along with medical and the local electric company. Joplin Police Department has several roads blocked off detouring traffic away from the area. Several residents living on and near the 800 block are without power due to the fire. Joplin Fire Department battled the blaze since after 6:40 p.m. it was under control shortly after 8 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

Jasper County Police Officer Shot

This is a developing story will update when more information is released:

Thursday afternoon while investigating a stolen vehicle at 5206 Gerbitz Rd. A Jasper County Police Officer was shot in the leg and taken to a local hospital. S.W.A.T is on scene. The police have several procedures that are going through at this moment to ensure safety of everyone in the area.

MoDOT Emergency Response vehicle blocking Travis Acers Rd.

Description of subject- Bald white male and has tattoos.

All local media is set up Cavary Chapel parking lot will bring updates from police as it is released.

Heavy police presence in the area.

UPDATE –

Mugshot of Kenneth Ashburn FEB 2019

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office released the preliminary autopsy on Kenneth T. Ashburn, the suspect in the officer involved shooting in Jasper County on September 12th

An autopsy was conducted. The preliminary autopsy suggest Ashburn died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head. The investigation into this incident by the Missouri State Highway Patrol is ongoing .

Mutliple Vehicle Collision Rangeline Road Monday Evening

9-9-2019

Multiple vehicles were involved in a collision at 4037 S Rangeline Road Monday evening in Joplin, Missouri near I-44 at the East and West ramp.

Joplin Police Department along with Joplin Fire Department responded to the mutliple collisions.

A female was taken into custody a short time after at the crash scene.
