Simple Plan Sébastien Lefebvre Talks 2022 Tour

To watch the interview
Simple Plan has been a force to be reckoned with since the release of their first studio album in 2002, No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls. Since then, they have toured the world, been certified multi-platinum in Canada and the US and released three other studio albums with their fourth, Harder Than It Looks, mere days away.
Guitarist and backing vocalist,  Sébastien Lefebvre, better known as Seb by friends and fans, took time from preparing for their Blame Canada Tour to sit down with Regional correspondent, Amanda Webster. He discusses the mixture of excitement and challenge that the band has been met with returning to the road after the long hiatus brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Playing shows is such an instrumental part of who we are,” he admitted. “And I think for the people out there going to the shows, when you can’t go any more, you just lose your mind. Like, oh my God, I just really want to go back to shows. So, I think it’s just going to be a coming together of people that are really happy to see each other.”
For decades, fans, including Amanda, have cited Simple Plan as the Antidote for overcoming dark times and being able to process difficult emotions that they had struggled with otherwise.
In lieu of May being Mental Health Awareness month, Seb also opened up about his own experiences with anxiety, the album that helped him through hard times and his advice for helping a loved one who might be struggling.
“This is what has sort of created the Simple Plan signature sound,” Lefebvre confirmed. “I believe hope is the message here.”
