Tom Dempsey who was an American Football player for several teams including the New Orleans, Saints from 1969-1970, Philadelphia Eagles 1971-1974, Los Angeles Rams 1975-1976, Houston Oilers 1977 and finally the Buffalo Bills 1978-1979. Mr. Dempsey retired as from the NFL as a Saint.
Tom Dempsey will always be remembered for a kicking a 63-yard field goal as time expired to give the New Orleans Saints a 19-17 win over the Detroit Lions on November 8, 1970.
Mr. Dempsey was bron January 12, 1947 – April 4, 2020. Mr. Dempsey was living in a nursing home in New Orleans with prior health issues before he contracted the Coronavirus. Mr. Dempsey passed away from complications due to the virus at the age of 73.
