Charlie Daniels Dead at 83

A country music legend Charlie Daniels has passed away at the age of 83 Monday in Nashville. Mr. Daniels died of a hemorrhagic stroke annoucened by his publicist.

In 1979, Daniels won his only Grammy for his biggest national hit: “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” instantly becoming a classic hit. Since its recording hundreds of artists have covered and performed that song.

Mr. Daniels was active on social media until July 3rd

Mr. Daniel was a Grand Ole Opry member and Country Music Hall of Fame member.
