Jasper County Police Officer Shot

Thursday afternoon while investigating a stolen vehicle at 5206 Gerbitz Rd. A Jasper County Police Officer was shot in the leg and taken to a local hospital. S.W.A.T is on scene. The police have several procedures that are going through at this moment to ensure safety of everyone in the area.

Description of subject- Bald white male and has tattoos.

UPDATE –

Mugshot of Kenneth Ashburn FEB 2019

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office released the preliminary autopsy on Kenneth T. Ashburn, the suspect in the officer involved shooting in Jasper County on September 12th

An autopsy was conducted. The preliminary autopsy suggest Ashburn died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head. The investigation into this incident by the Missouri State Highway Patrol is ongoing .
