Kansas Closing All K-12 Schools Till End of Semester

This afternoon Govenor Laura Kelly made a press annoucement that Kansas is closing all K-12 schools through the end of the semester, moving instruction online as the state responds to the coronavirus pandemic. Kansas becomes the first state to close schools for the rest of the academic year.

18 cases of the Coronavirus have been reported in the state of Kansas and numbers are expected to go up in the coming days. At least 100 people have died in the United States from the virus.  The Govenor stressed how important it is to keep gatherings at a number lower than 10 and not to make unnecessary trips.
